This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Dow Action Network website, which is hosted and maintained by The SoftEdge, Inc. (TSE) and the DowPAC website (The Dow Chemical Company Employees Political Action Committee), which is hosted and maintained by Public Affairs Support Services, Inc. (PASS).
When you visit the Dow Action Network website or the DowPAC website we collect specific, personal information to provide you with access to the websites and their features.
Access to the Dow Action Network Website and DowPAC Website
The Dow Action Network is designed to help you communicate with your legislative representatives. Use of the websites is limited to qualified Dow employees and retirees who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents and holders of green cards in accordance with applicable law. Access to the DowPAC website is further limited to selected employees and retirees as outlined in US Federal Election Commission regulations.
Your Dow e-mail address (for active employees) or home mailing or e-mail address (for Dow and Union Carbide retirees) may be used to send you information about the Dow Action Network and DowPAC. Retirees may opt-out from receiving information about the Dow Action Network and DowPAC at any time by contacting us at dowaction@dow.com.
Services provided by the Dow Action Network and DowPAC websites
Within the websites, you can only join DowPAC if you are a qualified employee or retiree, you may track proposed legislation, issues and activities important to Dow’s advocacy and assist in Dow’s grassroots efforts by signing up for the grassroots program to join with other employees, retirees and suppliers/customers in contacting appropriate governmental entities.
We collect information on the grassroots action that you take to generate activity reports to measure the program’s effectiveness and to send you communications of interest. For the DowPAC website, the information is collected in accordance with Federal Election Campaign regulations. For both the DowPAC website and the Dow Action Network, information about your personal activity will not be shared internally with supervisors. However, Dow may generate reports about the aggregate number of people active in the Dow Action Network website and the DowPAC website, number active in a specific location/state, which government officials receive communications from Dow employees and retirees, and other information related to advocacy.
The Dow Action Network website and DowPAC website will use “cookies” to simplify your browsing experience. “Cookies” are information stored in a file on your computer that communicates to the webpage each time you access that page. Cookies allow sites to remember your user login, password, name or other personalized information. If you have disallowed cookies to be placed on your computer, you may be asked to verify information every time you visit the Dow Action Network or DowPAC websites.
On the DowPAC website, you may be able to join via payroll deduction, credit card or personal check. The enrollment pages take you directly to an on-line webform, hosted by PASS, with individual user authentication provided by PASS. PASS’s site is VeriSigncertified.
DowPAC Website and Membership Disclaimer
Participation in The Dow Chemical Company Political Action Committee (DowPAC) is voluntary. The decision to join, or not join, DowPAC will not affect an employee's job status in any way. DowPAC members must be U.S. citizens or green card holders. Contributions to DowPAC are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Federal law also requires political action committees to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in an election cycle. All DowPAC contributions are subject to the prohibitions and limitations of the Federal Election Campaign Act and the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act.

We take commercially reasonable precautions to protect the confidentiality, integrity and security of your personal information. We urge users to be careful with personal information while using the Internet. Despite our use of reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the safety and security of any information transmitted online and users should be careful to protect their passwords and personal information.
Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we know are under 13. No part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13. If you are under the age of 13, you are prohibited from using this website. If you know of another user of the website who is under 13, please contact us so that we may delete any information provided by that user.
